Review of an Enjoyable Clothing Optional Resort in Florida
Guest Blog by: David Clark
Located near Tampa, Paradise Lakes is a clothing optional resort where my lady and I spent a week this summer. We rented a place known as “The Hammock” in the RV park. It’s a well-appointed double wide with a lanai, a bar, 3 tv’s, kitchen, outdoor shower, and a golf cart. A good thing is you can stay there and make it your Florida vacation home base (and live the naturist lifestyle) without paying any resort fees. When you like you can use the resort for about $50/day/couple and enjoy swimming pools, hot tub, bar, restaurant, night club, activities, and sports.
The community consists of RV’s, condo’s, hotel rooms, and single family homes. There are numerous small lakes with fish, alligators, and turtles. We met people from all over the US, mostly retired, and few younger couples with children. It’s definitely the over-40 crowd, and be prepared for risqué outfits in the nightclub.
We went for karaoke night at the Key Westbar (with good singers), a very nice dinner at the restaurant, dancing in the nightclub, and water-volleyball – they have 3 pools for this sport which is most appropriate on hot summer days. We also spent plenty of time in the swimming pools. The couples-only atmosphere was very pleasant, and the people and staff were very nice.
Speaking of hot, it was hot…and humid like you wouldn’t believe. It rained every day, briefly, but a raincoat or umbrella is not needed. Because it is so hot. Several evenings were a bit cloudy and cool enough to enjoy being outdoors, but during the day you’re either in the water or in air conditioning. The tennis and sand volleyball courts were empty. That’s summer in Florida.
