INDIVIDUAL WORDS
BARE – being without clothes; not covered; naked ; nude ….. Bill decided to take a walk in the woods bare naked.
DISROBE – the act of taking off ones clothes; removing your robes ….. Joe waited until he saw the nude beach sign to disrobe.
EXHIBITIONIST – a person who enjoys showing themselves off in public, often without any clothes ; getting gratification by exposing one’s body, either naked or almost naked, and seeing the reaction of the person or persons that saw the exhibition ….. Delores was a natural exhibitionist. It gave her great pleasure to see the men’s reaction as she paraded through the grocery store wearing only a small bikini.
NAKED – unclothed; uncovered; nude ….. There she stood, naked as the day she was born.
NATURIST – a person who practices nudism as part of a conscientious lifestyle choice; getting closer to nature by removing one’s clothing and being in a more natural state of being ….. Once they decided to give up the fast-paced city life, John and Mary, sold their apartment and moved out to the country to practice a Naturist lifestyle.
NUDE – unclothed; uncovered; naked ….. The model removed her clothes as she posed nude for the art class.
NUDISM – the actual act of walking around without clothes; similar to naturism, but just slightly more about the act than the lifestyle ….. the controversy over nudism at the county beach was a hot topic at the Town Council Meeting.
SKINNY DIPPING – going swimming in the nude; Under the soft moonlight, the newlywed couple slipped out of their hotel room, headed for the beach and went skinny dipping.
STREAKING – the act of removing one’s clothing and running before a crowd in a public place; designed to excite, thrill , amuse or maybe shock an unsuspecting public, this was a fad that lasted for a few years in the 1970s ….. As part of their initiation, the Pledges at the Fraternity had to streak across the football field at the college’s first game of the season.
UNCLAD – having no clothes; a state without any covering ….. Free of all inhibitions, Julie stood unclad at the lake.
SHORT PHRASES
AU NATUREL – being in a complete state of undress; naked; refers to the natural state of a person just after birth ….. There she stood wearing nothing more than a smile. Sheila was au naturel and proudly showed off her natural beauty.
CLOTHING OPTIONAL BEACH – a beach where visitors have the choice of wearing a bathing suit or sunbathing in various stages of undress or completely nude ….. Curious onlookers gawked at the pretty young woman sunbathing on the clothing optional beach.
FREE BEACH – a beach where it is legal to sunbath and swim free of clothes ….. When the county beach became a free beach, it became filled with nude sunbathers.
NUDIST COLONY – an out-dated term that referred to a camp, park or other place where naturists could go to practice their lifestyle. The modern terms are naturist/nudist club, resort, or campground. When John and Mary finally were able to get away from work and take a summer vacation, they chose to spend two weeks relaxing au naturel at the nudist resort.
SOCIAL NUDISM – the practice of appearing nude in a social setting; two or more people interacting while nude either at home or in a public setting ….. After her divorce, Anne began to rediscover her true self and began practicing social nudism every chance she got.
COTTON-TAIL – a person new to nudism who still has all the tan lines, including a white butt ….. “Check out that cotton-tail…they must be new here.”

IN THE BUFF – being without clothes; naked ….. When the delivery man came to the door, he was shocked to be greeted by Mrs. Jones who was in the buff.
IN THE RAW – being without clothes; naked ….. Appearing in the raw was an absolute requirement for the role in the new movie.
NOT A STITCH OF CLOTHING – another way of saying naked or nude; having no clothes covering your body ….. When he walked on stage, he had not a stitch of clothing to speak of.
1. LADY GODIVA – In an act of protest, Lady Godiva mounts her horse and rides nude through the town.
2. STREAKING – In the 1970s, the act of removing one’s clothing and running naked through a crowd of people, became a popular fad. After a few years, the shock wore off and streaking came to a quick demise.
3. MARILYN MONROE – Made history as the famous movie star posed nude for Playboy Magazine.
