If you are new to the naturist experience, you may have concerns about shedding your clothes in public. Rest assured, it is natural to be a little nervous, but most people adjust quickly, and are comfortable in their natural state in minutes. As a group, nudists are very non-judgmental. It does not matter if you are fat or skinny, young or old, rich or poor. Everyone is accepted and is expected to adhere to some basic, simple rules to make sure the experience is enjoyable to all.
Before going to any nudist club, you should call and inquire about their rules and admission policies as well as the different activities they may offer. No two clubs are exactly alike. The two basic types of clubs are a clothes free club, where everybody is expected to be naked and a clothing optional club, where you are not pressured to remove your clothes and can adjust to the new environment on your own terms. Nudist clubs are not for gawkers, but rather, for those wanting to get closer to nature.
Membership in the American Association for Nude Recreation AANR entitle you to a subscription to the monthly nudist newspaper “The Bulletin” which is all about enjoying the lifestyle. You will find interesting stories, information about clubs and events, the law relating to nudist activity and a classified ad section.
From fishing to swimming, volleyball to horseback riding, there are too many activities to list. Families, couples and individuals are all welcomed to join the AANR. Whether you are a newbie to nudism or have been practicing the lifestyle for years, membership is a great idea. While you’ll be relaxing and enjoying the company of others who share your same interest in nude recreation, you’ll also be helping to support a very good organization.
